Frustrated by impersonal courses, complicated manuals, and information overload?
There’s a better way to learn.
Introducing our 1-year mentorship program
Nature photography and all the things that surround it can be confusing, and knowing how and where to take the next step to better images can be hard without personalized education. You don’t have to go it alone.
With only 10 students per year, professional nature photographer and educator Syler Peralta-Ramos will be your personal mentor, speeding up your journey and helping you every step of the way.
Why do we spend thousands of dollars on new equipment but simply turn to free YouTube videos to learn how to use them? It is no wonder so many people give up on their photography journey!
Whether your aim is to start selling prints, or simply to take better pictures on your next vacation, personalized help will save you time and money in reaching your goals.
How does it work?
The program will kick off in January of 2026 with 10 mentorship students and will conclude in December of 2026. The cohort will be finalized in October and you will be notified of your acceptance into the program by November 1st, 2025.

Meet Syler, your personal photography mentor
Syler Peralta-Ramos is an award-winning photographer, guide, conservationist, storyteller, teacher, and ownter of Pangea Expeditions. He grew up in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and has lived there for over 27 years, only briefly leaving Wyoming to complete his B.S. in Environmental Science and an M.A. in Multimedia Environmental Communication at Stanford University.
In the classroom, Syler developed an in-depth understanding of wildlife, the natural world and the threats they face – always aiming to share that understanding with others through his photography and teaching. His interests have brought him to all corners of the globe, from Svalbard in the high arctic to the savannas of South Africa. But the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and Alaska remain his two favorite places on Earth.
On the technical side of photography, Syler was mentored by wildlife legend Thomas D. Mangelsen among countless others while growing up in Jackson Hole, a photography hotspot. There, he refined his personal photographic style which is focused squarely on truthful yet artfully creative depictions of the natural world. Like Mangelsen, Syler’s style focuses on getting the image right in camera, using post-processing sparingly to retain a natural yet artistic look and feel.
From Stanford classrooms to working as a guide , Syler has helped hundreds of students achieve their photographic goals, whatever they may be.
