Yellowstone Winter
Photography Expedition
January 16-24 2025
Embark on the ultimate Yellowstone expedition, experiencing this iconic park during its wildest winter season. When temperatures plummet and snow envelopes the icy landscape, sparkling ice crystals scatter the light like flakes of diamond as frosty bison take refuge in the warmth of erupting geysers. Against a backdrop of the clearest white, coyotes and foxes hunt voles beneath the snow while wolves traverse the hills in pursuit of prey. It all comes together to create a nature photographer’s paradise.
Onboard a heated big-wheel/over-snow vehicle for 3 full days, we will have access to Yellowstone’s interior. With no regular car access to this region of the park during the winter season, we will photograph some of the park’s most iconic landscape and wildlife locations such as Old Faithful, the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, and Hayden Valley in their most beautiful state, all without the large crowds of summer.
We will then spend another 3 full days in the park’s wildlife-rich Northern Range, including the famous Lamar Valley where wolves were reintroduced to Yellowstone in 1995. Today, this region remains one of the best places in the world to witness not only wild wolves but also bighorn sheep, red foxes, coyotes, bison, elk, bald eagles, ermine, and more.
Limited to no more than 5 guests, we offer personalized photography guidance from Syler Peralta-Ramos, your photography expert and expedition leader. Syler is a Wyoming local having grown up with Yellowstone as his wild backyard. As an editor for Thomas D. Mangelsen and an experienced photography guide, he has an eye for great photographs and will ensure you return from your trip with portfolio-worthy images.
